The art and music was really nice. The gameplay got old quick, though.

I really like the visual style, it's really polished for a jam game ! And I love the simplicity and elegance of your water shader.
The only problem I had was that I struggled to understand where were the safe zones, as an other comment said I think it would help to have a visual indication other than the text in the corner, because like this you feel totally powerless when the shark arrives and you don’t know where to go to be safe.

Very visually polished! Complete set of sounds is also something really nice to see in a jam game. Something that may incentivize the mechanics is spending the money to upgrade your boat, like speed, or some sort of defense against sharks. I also would suggest clearer visual indicators. Like having another way to show the player which areas are safe/dangerous other than text, such as different colored water, or highlighting the boat, or something of the sort that doesn't force the player to constantly check the top right corner. The audio queue for the shark was a great indicator that I was in danger and also definitely got me engaged! But it might be helpful to have a queue for whenever you're in a danger zone in general, and not just near a shark.  The water looks fantastic btw!

Nice work :)

Thanks a lot for such a deep analysis. I totally agree that danger/safe area indications are far form obvious. Also I planed to make the boat upgradable. But didn't managed to finish that all.  Thanks for good words and taking a loot at our game. Will check out your submission as well.

Nice little game.

It's at the same time really polished, but there's some rough spots.

Polished in a visual sense and in the gameplay. The arcade-ey unload and gas replenish is quick and satisfying. The visual are simple, and colourful! The font rendering is great! One of the best looking games I've seen so far.

But unfortunately, the fish boat is quite slow and lacks any mechanics to escape or to defend yourself. And there's no end goal as I understood, other to make money indefinitely. So, I've never felt the need to run outside the center of the islands, as I did not think that the trip was worth it, as fish tends to rot quite quickly.

Thanks for submitting!

Thanks Adam. I appreciate your feedback. There are rough spots in the game indeed. The game design was ad hoc in some sense and visual part took the major part of my attention. So you are absolutely right regarding the drawbacks.

When I tried to escape, the shark followed me under the island…

Hmmm. Thanks for the bug report
