Game Description
ASSECLA! You are an alien lifeform who has been trapped and research in a laboratory trying to unearth the secrets behind your existence. Today that all changes. The facility is impregnable and is not something you will be able to escape, however, they will not keep you trapped without a fight! Force your way through an increasing horde of laboratory enemies, making them pay for their vicious acts against you! This game was made over the course of one week with a team of three for the Godot Wild Jam #67.

I really like the capture mechanic but found it quick challenging really quickly after waiting a while for enemies to spawn. Regardless after a few attempts and getting into a groove I thought the game was really unique and had a good time with it. Nice work on the sound design too!

That difficulty ramp! No enemies for a while, then bam, Game over.

Developer

Indeed, the game is most definitely in need of some difficulty tweaks as well as other quality changes. Thank you for playing and giving your feedback.

Developer

Yeah, I noticed that the intended spawning behaviour (spawn enemies just offscreen) was completely non-functional 2 hours before submission so I had to panic create a fix which unfortunately meant that enemies spawn anywhere on the map

Awesome game! I was a little bit overwhelmed too, but the alien is so dang cool. Awesome mechanic, great visuals and sound. Nice one!

Vampire Survivor's is a favorite game of mine so I was excited to play this. I really think your idea of grabbing scientists and making them fight for you is a very neat idea. Implementing biomass as a way to level up is fun and rewarding. The difficulty seems intense from the get go, and one thing I would like to see is better cursor visuals for aiming attacks. Thanks for the game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The cursor will definitely be among the first fixes, post-jam.

Scientist when possessed by me:

Love the alien animations. Possess mechanic seemed a bit buggy--my minions wouldn't always attack, and they didn't often (ever?) draw fire from enemies.  It's very VERY easy to get overwhelmed with enemies in this game, largely due to the fact that 1) enemies have collisions, and 2) you basically only have access to melee attacks. Biomass perks were a great addition (it would've been nice to have some icons in the corner or something showing which ones you'd collected).

Fantastic work for a jam game!

Thank you for playing! And yes, I would have loved for the possessed to draw fire from enemies. Due to the constraint of the jam, this could not be done, but I would love to see this realized post-jam.

Cool game. Hard to choose upgrade in the heat of things. I keep pressing left click to fight and when the power up pop up i get whatever i get.

Developer

Completely understandable. We have full intentions of quickly fixing it up post jam. Thank you for playing!
