Nice little two player game. Though I played myself! Thanks
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Nice lil game but due to how poorly Godot 3 games work in Mac browsers I couldn't really enjoy it fully.
I would deffo recommend getting started with Godot 4 - I was on the 4.3 dev preview and it was pretty solid most of the time - and the web exports are much better than 4.2
Anyway, nice game, if you realise a Mac download version I could see me playing this with my kids
Ahh, that's a shame, I wasn't aware of those issues. I stuck with 3.5 because it was recommended for web exports two jams ago, and because 4 caused some trouble with my audio interface. I'll have to stop trying to evade these issues and take a proper look.
Thanks for the info and giving the game a peek anyway, much appreciated!
Very charming! With a little random AI, it'll make for a good single player game too.
I'll definitely be looking into AI opponents next! Thanks a lot for playing!
Took a sec to figure out the mechanics but it was my fault for not really reading. Unfortunately I had to play solo so that made getting the hang of it a little tough at first but ultimately had a good time blowing up my own sandcastles.
I thought the soundtrack was great and the game looked really nice overall. I did accidentally hit the spacebar (maybe multiple times) which was unfortunate, but also maybe less of an issue for 2 players.
Really cool !
Much appreciated! Instructions definitely could have been better on my part, and you're probably right that space isn't the handiest reset button :) Very happy you enjoyed the game and atmosphere though, and I'll definitely have to look into making computer opponents next. Thanks again!
Aw yeah, nice!!! I really wish I had a clone of myself to play this with haha, I think it'd be delightfully hectic. It's awesome you stuck with the idea of a two-player game though, it feels really fresh and interesting!
The atmosphere is spectacular, I love the use of shaders and the composition of the scene generally. Congrats on another great submission!! :D
Thank you so much!! I do feel a little cheeky having submitted two games now without really making the visuals myself, but I'm glad people are enjoying the vibes as much as I did. The ripple shader just made everything feel so nice, so once again I evaded making many animated sprites :) Very happy you got to enjoy the game a bit even if solo, thanks again for your kind words!
I loved the mechanics once I figured it out haha
I should probably read things more...
Super original idea too, I never even thought about interactivity with another player, reminds me of the old fireboy and watergirl games! I do think the cooldown could be shortened slightly, but that's just a small nitpick to an otherwise great game
Thanks a lot! I definitely think the issue is on my end, I've had most people say the same thing on all my games :') I think the proper instructions are hidden somewhere among the description, game page and in-game tutorial. You're probably right on the cooldown as well, I wanted to prevent constant orca-rehijacking (it's a word now), but maybe I should've just made the orca faster. I hope to work on it some more, but you know how it is :) Thanks again for your kind words!
Very original, and tons of fun. Using the orca was very satisfying! Took me longer than I care to admit to figure out you could control the parasite once it was shot! lol
Thank you very much! I definitely could've been clearer on instructions, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Had to play it by myself as well but it worked well enough to get the idea. I could see this being a fun party game! It took me a bit to realize I could control the the animals after infecting them and had to run them into the other castle. It seems obvious in retrospect, but I didn’t get that from the instructions screen.
The visuals were great and really every layer of it was really solid. Great job!
Thank you so much! The instructions screen was very hastily implemented last minute, and somehow I feel like the proper explanation for how it all worked got scattered among the description, game page, and in-game instructions :') I realised going two-player only wouldn't work well for most, so thanks again for having a go anyways!
Extremely cute game! Unfortunately I don't have a player 2 at this time so I played both players on my own. I love the graphics! Great job.
Thanks a lot for playing! I can only take credit for cutting and pasting the images together, but I appreciate it anyway. Happy you enjoyed!
Fun game and very polished. :3
Thanks a lot for playing, very happy you enjoyed! :D
This is AWESOME! I played it with myself controlling both slugs! I love the visuals, the music. I was drawn to the thumbnail because it looked so colorful, but I stayed for the ORCA ATOMIC BOMB. Any game that let's me play as an orca is a win in my book. Perhaps the sprites for fishes could be flipped horizontally when they move backwards. I piloted a few ORCA ATOMIC BOMBs upside down. Fun all around.
Edit: Came back to comment cause I'm slow, and I just connected the dots on the title. More wins.
Thank you so much!! The visuals are mainly stock images so I can't take much credit there, but very happy you enjoyed it. I actually did have the sprites flipping at some point so they'd always be the right side up, but it caused some issues with the googley eyes and I kinda liked going upside down anyway, so i just left it. And glad you enjoyed the orca! I also think they are very cool.
My friend came up with a few solid titles, keep an eye out for Beef in the Reef 2: Coral Quarrel.
Thanks again for your kind words!
This looks great and is a fun idea. Also, sadly didn't have anyone nearby at the time to really play it. Congrats on a great submission and good luck!
Thanks a lot for playing! Can't really take credit for the visuals as it's mostly stock, but I had fun puzzling it all together. I'll be sure to check out your game as well!
I love the idea of mind controlling other creatures to attack each other! Unfortunately a bit tricky to test effectively since I didn't have anyone to play with at the moment but still had a decent amount of fun playing against myself. The controls were a bit wonky with the aiming but it wasn't too bad. Nicely done!
Thank you very much! I realized having a two-player only game might be an issue, but had to stick with what I had working. Appreciate you giving it a go regardless!
