Interesting game. I included it in my Godot Community Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Interesting use of light, but controls are weird, too hard to jump, too easy to get stuck.

Also I found impossible to survive the night if you try to keep cool during day, there is no way to keep some warm at night.

Think of removing the runner mechanic, it can be fun as single screen survival puzzle.

Great work, I really like the theme interpretation and the gameplay!

I agree with others that the jump controls are a bit difficult to use, so I often lost due to a wrong jump instead of temperature. It's also strange that during daytime you can keep cool by staying in the shade, but as soon as night starts, you heat up very fast due to the ambient temperature still being super hot (while actually, everything is in shade by definition and you should therefore have the same effect - or more cold - than when protecting yourself from the sun).

Thanks for your comments. I also found it odd that his temperature continues to rise at night. It turned out, at least in part, that I'd given the ambient air a cooling rate for the moon at night rather than its own cooling rate. I've now fixed that and the ambient temperature drops a lot faster once the sun sets. I'm sure there's also an issue in the player's code which I'll look at next.

The controls kept getting worse the more I tried to fix them, I think it's something to do with move_and_slide and the static bodies moving towards the player, so I left them in favour of getting the other mechanics done. Hope it wasn't too problematic :)

Cool idea with cute graphics. I had a bug where my player temperature did not reset, so i to reload the game. there also seem passages that are impossible to jump, like the stairs. But maybe I'm just bad :D

Can't be played on the itch.io page because of the resolution. All I can see is snow.

Developer

Hi, I've tweaked the itch.io version resolution now. It's still not perfect but has a fullscreen button which should help.

39 meters! Glad you put that restart key there, I needed it :P
