Even for this being a bare-bones, there are some major issues that I feel could have been addressed to make this more enjoyably. The darkness was simply TOO dark. It's one thing for atmosphere, but this just made it hard to see where to go. The keycards were not only too hard to see in some cases (why the game got accidentally DQ'd before), but there is no indication that you picked one up or activated anything. You're just trusting that it worked as a player.  Also, aside from a few signs in the maze itself, there is ZERO direction for the player. Even just an objectives would be nice. And what little story there was was partially obscured by blood and hard to make out, making it even more confusing.

I would NOT call this beta, actually. This is just a tech demo and not a great one at that.

I gotta admit, I'm not a fan of this game. I'm sorry, but I'm even having a hard time finding 3 things I like about this. The one thing I do like is how high-quality the textures and lighting are, so the game looks pretty good. Unfortunately, the lack of player guidance, lack of feedback (things like a reticle and notifications when things happen), general darkness, and short, forever-looping ambience sound all contributed to me not enjoying the game. Additionally, the text on the notes was far too long and ramble-y for me to try to really understand what was being said.

I hope you keep trying to improve and refine your game dev skills.

Thanks for the feedback, in my upcoming game. I'm working on fixing complaints, but some areas will keep the darkness, but less of it and the graphics have taken a major step up and the player will talk saying stuff like "Ummmm I should check that cave I passed, the key might be in there" for player guidance.

EDIT: NEVERMIND. I found a necessary item to advance and will replay this game on the 26th. I apologize for any confusion.

Actually upon further review, this game has broken the longer than five minutes rule, and unfortunately, will be disqualified.

In the first room you have to find a key card under the blood, that is under the office desk. Once collected bring it to the door at the corner of the room to take you to the main playzone where you find 3 green generators to open a door to take you to the next zone. Its a finder game, you have to find green generators and keycards.

Developer

I tried hiding the key cards really well so, some play testers took a while to find them, also with the generators they look like green cubes, just go up to them and press E for it to activate, the key cards are just blue rectangles.

Ok, I'll re-review this and see if I can find the keycard. If I can, I will both requalify and replay this on Saturday. I apologize for the confusion if this is a screw up on my part.

Ok, my apologies, I found the keycard and was able to advance, so I have requalified the game and will be replaying this. Thankfully it kept all existing votes, and I will re-evaluate my scores as well. Sorry again!

Yea its fine, I think I made the items to hard to find lol, in my upcoming games. I'll remember too add more clear instructions, Also in upcoming sections. If you see a green box make sure to press e next to it.  Do it to 3 of them to open the next door and after getting 2 key cards in the Wearhouse section. Return to the start to open a side door.

Edit- i know have a finished version of the game, it has a proper ending and a mascot chase compered to Beta 4.5, however its 3.2gb which is .2 over the game jolt limit so the only way to send it would be via email, but the beta is still available if not

Developer

My play testers took 20-40 mins to solve all the puzzles and get to the end of the beta. You need to go under the desk, SPACE to jump over the barrier and get to the desk and office chair.
