Honestly... this story needs a little bit of work. What's told in-game is interesting, but it feels like there's a lot of information that's missing that the game really needs so the story makes more sense. We're thrown into the game knowing absolutely nothing about any of the characters, and nothing in the game tells us what's actually going on. Why are we under arrest, and what exactly is supposed to be happening? Why is a wraith after us, and how does being a witch even affect the story? There's a lot that isn't shown OR told, and unfortunately, I feel like I can't get into what's going on because so much feels like it's been left out. I understand that it's supposed to be a mystery, but there needs to be something that actually keeps the mystery going. After getting all three endings, I still don't quite understand what the story is supposed to be about and the game just feels... unresolved.

Ok, so this one felt more like we were being dropped into the middle of a story, but there was zero exposition to explain anything up to that point. Who is Amber? Who is Rondo? Why are they being chased? What is the wraith? Why was a cop cussing them out? What do witches have to do with any of it? With stories like this, you really need to explain things, even if there is supposed to be a bigger mystery. Needs some more work, but at least it didn't softlock, which honestly is an accomplishment for a first time RM dev.

Three things I liked about this entry:

  1. Tightly-controlled experience keeps things on-track and manageable.
  2. There is a lot of mystery to the story. Who are these people, and why are they doing what they're doing? It kept me reading.
  3. It's short, making replays to get the different endings enticing.

Three things I did not like:

  1. The game starts in a very small resolution, so it's hard to see by default. When I figured out how to scale it to full screen, it lost some visual quality.
  2. I couldn't figure out how to get Ending B despite doing everything I could think of.
  3. The story is pretty unresolved at the end - I still don't fully understand anyone's motives or what the wraith has to do with anything.

Also, when you get captured by the wraith you hop to the right, which can mean you clip into impassable trees. I ended up in an endless loop of captures a couple of times because of it. There also was a time where I exited the car and was unable to move - not sure how that happened.

Overall, I liked this game, I just wish I understood the story better.
