I could not get the player to move. I could only point where it shoots.

Developer

Were you holding down the fire button? The player will remain still when firing, and the move controls become the aiming controls. Releasing the fire button should let you move.

Nope. I don't even know what the fire button is because it was firing even if as I started the game before I touched a button.

Developer

The fire button is either the space bar (or enter) on keyboard or the A/B button on gamepad (you can check the README.txt file). It might be that the space bar or one of the buttons is stuck? Do you have a gamepad connected to your PC while playing?

No, not at the time. I did not know it was supported. I'll try it again another time.

Very nice game and quick to pick up! I am also a fan of the shader effects as well as the speech samples, cool.

Excellent use of aesthetic overall in this game.  The sprites themselves may be quite simple, but the way in which you use those graphics is what really wins out here.  The presentation is top notch, polished to a mirror sheen!  The projectiles feel a bit too slow moving for the much higher resolution we are dealing with in modern hardware.  It's a very faithful recreation, I only wish you pushed the gameplay concept a bit more.  Even still, this is an excellent jam piece!

I never played the Atari 2600 game but this was pretty fun. There's something to be said about simplistic controls. I really dig the graphical effects. It took a minute or two to get used to the controls, but after that, I was good to go.

Nice game :) I really liked the aesthetic of it, especially those backgrounds. The music was good enough to keep me engaged, and i liked the way the the level progressed, more and more difficult AI came at you with more civilians to save in each level, i also adored the transition between levels.
My only complaint are the controls, i found it really hard to hit left, every other directions it was snappy and quick, this was fine in earlier levels but became really frustrating in the later levels.
All in all, a REALLY REALLY good game.
