Doesn't the topic "Folklore and Mythology" kind of go against the point of a historically accurate game jam?

Like of course you can make really accurate game about an ancient poem or something but you can also do pretty much whatever you want, without really any historical limitations, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but not really fitting to the theme of the jam I guess

Thats what I thought as well. I dont know why themes like "mythology" and "witchcraft" keep getting suggested when they arent historical events.

I am pretty sure there is a limitation like it has to be something really widely believed during that time period, like something that was believed enough that it could be counted as a part of history I think.
