A top score would have been nice. Since the game doesn't seem to really progress or change there is not too much incentive to play more than once. The range on the melee attack is quite large, which while unrealistic does assist in the gameplay. A little variation in the sounds would have been nice. I still enjoyed that the melee attack allowed you to survive longer and it was satisfying. Controls being in the game also would have been nice.
Rating games using the Judge categories just for fun
Gameplay
Nice arcade experience. Neat controls, although there was no tutorial ingame. The game gets kinda repetitive after a while, with the only objective being attaining a high score

Presentation
Nice graphics. The sound effects were corny but fun. The UI could have used a little more polish. Not much else to say.

Engagement
It is easy to want to keep going... until you die and realize there is no point to starting again (at the moment), so it is really fun for the first playthrough, but that's it

Potential
There are many games out there like this. In order for this one to shine, it needs a more definite gameplay mechanic or aesthetic, as well as more varied content

Neat game. There's a pretty serious glitch though. I'm not sure what triggered it, but I reached a point where I couldn't shoot. I think it might have been the number of ammunition magazines that I was carrying, but suddenly it wouldn't shoot.
Also, you can't die, but that seems like fair compensation for the gun suddenly breaking. Also, managed to kill quite a few zombies in melee before being dropped down to one heart...and quite a few after. I was still trying to get that gun to work.
Reloading takes a little getting used to. You might want to consider adding a fill gauge to show how long to hold the R button for.
thank you pianotm i will figure this out
I'm not usually a fan of top-down shooter games, but I've played a few in my time. This one needed some instructions inside the game on which buttons to use and could have used a starting screen instead of starting you on the map, but overall it was a decent play. There's just something cathartic about taking out a bunch of zombs and giving the player a melee option was a nice addition since it meant that you weren't screwed once the bullets stopped flying.
I would have liked more stages and maybe a bit more strategic gameplay - perhaps extra items like barricades that the zombies can break over time or bombs that can hit a group for smaller damage, smoke grenades that mess with their senses so they lose track of you... that kind of thing.
Overall it was a fun little game, just needs some polish and extra content to make it more interesting.
thank you silversatyr!
I would have to have seen more variety in the game (weapons, zombies, terrain). (Although maybe it is there and I'm just bad and didn't get to it.) I did find it annoying how easy it is to get hung up on a tree.
thank you dulsi i will figure this out
The game was pretty enjoyable and the art was very nice. Most annoying thing was how the zombies spawn, since it is random they could just spawn right on you and there is nothing you can do. Also, this game doesn't really have much to expand into and since that's what this years IGMC was all about, finding the next indie hit with room to expand. I'm guessing you will not win. However, it was still a very enjoyable, short and unpolished little game.
thank you very much, i will correct this problems, and do one better game next time. Thank you.
cool
Thank you!
