It reminds me those times when i just wanted to explore an unexplored and unhabited planet on Starbound. I like the idea of exploring and not combating everything.
I have read all other comments and i think that's your main idea...
Here is a proposal: What about some sort of terraforming?
Perhaps this planet is innabithed, but you can help to grow some species in there.
Maybe you are researching fossils or other clues of ancient life forms and you can make them alive again, i don't know...
I like the concept and i think it have potential, as others, i enjoyed the ride and the day/night cycle and the biome changes
Beautiful and relaxing, I like the idea of the ship dropping the character: make my think a lot of two space exploration games "Rodina" and "Knytt" (this one is free). If you want simple ideas:
-In "Rodina", you can find dairies, that explain what happened before the hero arrival.
-In "Knytt", You find ,on the planet, pieces of your ship to fix your Ship. And you unlock capabilities, to access new part of the world, like wall jump.
-In "Proteus", the animals just run away from you, and when you enter in a Stone circle you can unlock new marvels to watch. But you need to guess to rules by yourself. It's very nice for an pure exploration game.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the recommendations, I hadn't heard of those games. I was especially inspired by Proteus, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm going for. I would love to write an adaptive soundtrack. I also like the idea of unlocking capabilities, maybe like Toki Tori 2 does it where you learn how to interact with the environment, and that's what gives you new abilities. Thanks for the inspiration!
Pretty nice, and nice implementation of the night/day cycle trough color palette.
I'd like to see animals in your next update..
what about enemies and goods?
Hey, thanks. Most games use enemies and item pickups for engagement and progression, but I don't really want to go that route. Instead I'll make the player be able to interact with the plants and animals, and have them react in interesting ways. Adding enemies would frame the game as conquest, but I want it to be more like exploration.
Damned, Nice project, I will play it now.
I have to say.. I appreciate this choice! Cool!
