Which theme was used for the game, and in what way?
Alien and Expire were both used as inspiration. The goal of the game is to keep you cells from expiring, and the idea of the alien world inspired us to make the units "cells" rather than earthly animals.

it's an interesting simulation and also fun to watch how the "skill points" have an effect on the algorithm!

I don't really get what is going on or what I am meant to do?

Awesome concept and really fun. I had to figure out that I could modify my population without restarting the game by clicking "toggle genetics menu" again.


Was anybody faster than 150s? ;)

Oops! I actually had a better menu set up which GitHub blew away about 30 minutes before the deadline. I'll be sure to clarify that in the instructions. Thanks for trying it out! - 150s seems pretty speedy!
