For a first game jam, it is a nice work ! The egyptian era is well crafted, and the music stressful ! The gameplay works well most of the time, except for the jumps which were too high, and sometimes there was too many enemies. Overall, if you re-work again, and fixes the issues + balancing, I think that it can become a great game !

Cheers mate appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it , yeah these were issues we thought might need fine tuning , the games currently undergoing a big sort out getting things a lot  cleaner and working more fluid now we're not on a timescale!

A very fine art style, very well done. Good looking animations, especially liked the snake death animation. The lighting is absolutely gorgeous, it really adds to the aesthetic.

However, the controls felt slightly sluggish to me, I think because there is some acceleration involved when moving(?). Also, I would get rid of the delay when shooting the fireball.

Yeah I get that, we had some issues with deciding to use add force of translate.transform. I think it the future we will stick with translate and rework how the knockbacks work. Yeah will look into that too, maybe its a case of making the shoot animation faster and having the fireball instantiate from an earlier point. Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!

really fun game!

i started playing the game and quickly i needed to beat the game, which was great.

i love the artwork in the game, its so clan, and the fire is the best part of it all, it looked so nice and looked like it would probably kill the player. The music was pretty nice too.

i like concept of having to go through the level then back and translating the code, i spent so much time playing i got really into it (i'm not good with platformers), theres a few things that could be improved however.

i would like if you reworked the jump, since the player jumps so high, which makes you take damage in certain parts which sucks, like the spike part in the level you can do anything but hope you make it, but you balance it out with the heart canisters which i really like.

overall great game, good job!

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

We've already been discussing implementing a long press/short press system for jumping so that the height of the jump can be controlled better, unfortunately we couldn't add it in time for the game jam deadline. We still intend to at least finish this stage so it will be definitely be added in at some point.
