if you fullscreen the game that issue is solved

I believe the server hosting the leaderboard has gone down. I'll get it looked into to see if it's anything we can fix on our end.

Thanks for the feedback. We didn't really get to tweak the timer as much as we would have liked due to having more pressing issues towards the deadline so I share your sentiment. If we ever look to work on something similar to this it's definitely something we'd take more time on

Thank you for the video! I'm happy you clocked onto the Crash Bandicoot vibes!

It's the colours for me. The text colours are very similar to the game palette so it makes it difficult to read at times. Personally, I try to pick contrasting colours for text in my games to allow for readability.

I really enjoyed the style of the game, however, I had an issue where the UI would blend into the game and I couldn't read the numbers very easily.  Other than that I liked sending what I assume to be children into the abyss.

Thank you for your feedback! I just managed to catch your VOD and I was disheartened when I saw the bug and you weren't able to enjoy the game properly. But I'm glad you managed to solve the issue during your playthrough to experience and judge the game properly. I'll make a note of the on the game page so that hopefully nobody else has the same frustration.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! We're aware of the glitch and plan on fixing it in the next update, however, due to the rules of the game jam we aren't able to patch the game just yet.

Thank you so much for the video and feedback, it was great to watch and see how you approached our game. We had a great time trying to beat your score when we saw that you were number 1.

Also, we've added the option for debit/credit payments at your request.

Thank you! I'm hoping to work on it a little more in the future, but we'll have to see

Thank you :)

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for your name

This was a pretty relaxing game. At first I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do, "is it like flappy bird? no I can go through the trees. And there's no score or any goal". But I enjoyed trying to get the plane as fast as possible until the level kind of just... ended.

See if you can beat my highscore on carrot topped ;)

The art style is beautiful! I enjoyed playing it but I got confused by the ending, I was expecting something to happen and then it just starts again.

(1 edit)

I had a lot of fun messing around with the different spells in this game and finding out what each combination can do. However, I found the movement to be a bit clunky as the character seemed to stop when you cast spells, and then you couldn't move for a while after.

I also had issues seeing the mana bar due to the dark blue on a grey background so at the beginning I was wondering why I wasn't able to cast spells because I wasn't able to see the bar. But changing the colour to a lighter blue should quickly fix that problem.

Gameplay-wise it seems a bit empty at the moment as there is a huge map but very few enemies. I think making the map a little smaller and increasing the enemies would have made this game more interesting as it just feels like a gentle stroll in the park at the moment.

I found that after a while, I started using only one spell combination. I understand the time scale of the development, but adding variation to the enemies would have been a good addition to encourage you to switch up the spells, such as certain spells being more/less effective on certain enemies.

Overall I enjoyed the game's ideas, and I would highly recommend adding a thumbnail/cover to your itch page as at the moment the game seems to be getting overlooked, which is a big shame.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

We've already been discussing implementing a long press/short press system for jumping so that the height of the jump can be controlled better, unfortunately we couldn't add it in time for the game jam deadline. We still intend to at least finish this stage so it will be definitely be added in at some point.
