It's ALL GOOD that your game isn't a strategy game! It's also ALL GOOD that you're struggling. It's really normal. I made at least a hundred, maybe a lot more tabletop prototypes that didn't work at all before I was able to start making some that did. Don't be too hard on yourself and just have fun :D
I wanna second Keith there. I started off years ago with this like... pressure that everything had to be perfect, that games had to be these masterpieces of perfection. And then I kinda just treated it like fun. Making games is kinda like a puzzle, and the result is so amazing to see. If someone isn't trying to make a living from it (like me lol) then it should just be 100% fun, exploration, just pure enjoyment! Games can be such a cool way to bring people together, learn about each other, stretch our mental muscles, and learn about different situations or see things from a new perspective.
