I thought the mechanic was good, the physics were a little buggy sometimes where when a dead block would squash and stretch underneath the spikes, whereas they would at other times be just act as as a solid. I thought the levels were fun, and i am a sucker for central mechanics like this, the fan was a good addition.
The only other thing that might have been nice would have been if either the player was faster or if you could kill yourself on command, as the waiting to be killed would sometimes be frustrating. Other than that, great game, and i wish there were more levels to play! (0u0✿)
Thanks for the feedback and Im glad you enjoyed playing!
This was a really neat puzzle game! There is a lot of neat details in the game that just make it feel polished! I really like the heart rating system that shows whether you did the solution perfectly or if players can finish it with even less deaths (it encouraged me to go back and play the level again one time)! Also the sound effects are just really fun and playful (really nice touch)! The music found was also really nice to hear! The art style is really just pleasant to look at! It has this minimalist vibe that is really suitable for puzzle games in order to avoid visual overload! For the gameplay, the levels have a nice sense of flow to them! The tutorial level excellently teaches players the core mechanic of the game within seconds of playing, instantly showing them what they are going to get themselves into. Then, the following levels just slowly expand off of the mechanic and introduces new game elements at a nice pace, not to overwhelm players! The difficulty curve is really nice for this type of game, so good job! The movement is nice, but I feel like the margin for error for some of the platforming segments is too little in my opinion. This wouldn't be a problem for most platforming games, but this is more of a puzzle game where players shouldn't have to worry about losing a life and more worried about solving the solution (I had multiple instances where I would miss/barely make over gaps and spikes because I hit my head on the wall, making the jumps pretty difficult). The generosity for life giving makes up for that, so I think its more of a personal nitpick than an actual major problem.
Overall, this was a really fun puzzle game! There were a lot of fun levels to go through and I had a lot of fun with this! Hope you had fun with the jam too! Great job!
Thank you for the kind words and feedback!
the last level was a bit too long but because I always died from the last one spike accidentally but the game is pretty cool and your game mechanic is very similar to my game mechanic
it was fun, the onl;y thing is that the level with the air was very buggy for me but the concept is really nice
Interesting puzzle game. The jump sound effect is pretty fun to hear :)
When I finished a level, I could not go to the next one by pushing a key on my keyboard, I needed to use my mouse. I also saw glitches with the physics (some of my dead body got crushed into the ground by the spikes and spinned like crazy :p) but not too critical.
Good job. Keep going!
Thanks for the feedback!
Great puzzle mechanics, I really enjoyed playing it.
Sometimes I wanted to push past my dead selves, would be annoying
I was annoyed with the reset screen every time I reset, but only at the end of the game did I see that there was a way of disabling that. A problem with the reset screen is that it says you've failed the level, which is pretty negative for just trying to restart.
Graphics design is pretty nice (menu etc.) but visually things can definitely be improved, even if you're not going to use any extra sprites. Having shadows and an animated jump (i.e. stretch when you jump) would definitely help. Also landing & jumping effects.
Going down on the elevator things would put you in the air repeatedly which didn't feel great, should probably stick to the surface when you're going down.
Overall was a good game and would love to see it with some more polish
Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed playing it :)
I just uploaded an updated version (to web and downloads) where the elevator issue does not happen anymore. I also fixed the floating corpse physics. Ill take into consideration the other things you reported for a future patch.
This game is awesome! I really hope this one wins
Thank you for the kind words!
nicely done, but concept similar to other games from the jam
Great puzzle mechanics! Some of the controls were the only issue I had after level 3. The fan level was where I got stuck at because of it but overall a great start to a full game. Lot of potential
Thanks for the kind words! I just uploaded a version (web and downloads) that fixes interactions with floating bodies!
I invite you to play again and see all of the 5 levels :)
Great voice acting :D
Haha the jumping and landing sounds are me doing a voice with a pitch modifier :p
(but the death sound is actually a cc0 sound with a pitch, not my voice ;o)
This game is pretty challenging, but quite fun
Btw you matched the theme perfectly, well done!
Thank you for the kind words :)
Hi It's a very good game.
The only things that is a bit difficult is that the jump mechanic is not so good. it's not very fun to jump.
If you work on it a bit you got a publishable game it's quite polish, got good puzzle mechanics.
The best game i have played on this game jam for the moment.
Thanks for the feedback I ll try to work on it!
I would have preferred a WebGL port, especially since you have so many ports.
I wasn't sure if I could have both online and downloads here but i did upload a web version to gamejolt (same name)
Took your feedback and uploaded a web version :)
Thank you! its way better now
Nice Game
Thank you!
