It was a neat little game, but it felt like the idea was made, and then the theme was added to it. Instead of having an idea built around the theme. Beside that, nicely done

Understandable. :) I had the idea first, I just didn't get around to implementing it as I did. Was going to involve more puzzle elements like escorting them to the portals, or doors that require their death to open which would require you to seek them out like keys.

Pretty nice game! The gameplay is smooth, although, I did find myself having to backtrack because the old dudes' ai were getting stuck on a wall. The music was a little over the top, there were some rooms where I didn't find a point to go into, and there was a lack of special effects when the enemies die. Otherwise, the game plays nicely, I like the enemies, especially the slime thing.   I do really like the final boss and the little fireballs it shoots out. Also they eye has a nice tail. The sword throwing and dodge mechanic were responsive and took me out of sticky situations often. Overall a pretty good game!

The rooms were going to have chests in them where you could get new weapons, but alas. Glad you enjoyed it.

Every aspect of the gameplay and the animations here are really polished and well done.

The enemies were pretty great and you could understand what they were doing pretty easily, making the game fair and giving it a great feel.

Maybe I would have changed the final room with something a bit more interesting, a guillotine or something like that, since I did not understand what that circle was supposed to represent lol

Which circle. The circle of magic orbs that he summons, or the cyan looking shield? If the cyan shield then it was just meant to tell the player that he's invulnerable to damage during that phase. Thanks for playing and giving feedback. :) I will definately add more decorative elements if I continue working on this game. :) I could make it quite nice looking I think with a little elbow grease.

I mean the portal that activates when killing those companions xD

Oh, gotcha gotcha. xD Yeah, those could've been better. I was going to add some sinister looking particles that moved from the the old men into the portal and give it some demonic art. Don't know how much that would've helped.

Great gameplay. I loved the enemy variety, abilities & the boss.
A few game feel things could have really elevated the game (things like screen shake, death effects, etc.)
Same feedback as others with the collecting mechanic and the music
Was really fun overall, is a very good game :)

Ha, interestingly enough the screen shake code is there. Guess I got too distracted right at the end to ever call it. All it needed was one line of code... Thank you for playing and leaving feedback! :)

I thought this one was really fun to play! I didn't even realize there was a dodge until the game was over, but still had a good time! Definitely wish the enemies had some sort of health indicators, especially the boss. 
The music I didn't feel really fit the game and that threw things off a little.
The concept of collecting and then sacrificing them to get to the next level is a great idea, but I find it wasn't executed the best.
Really fun game, had a good time playing it :)

Thank you for playing and the feedback! The dodge mechanic should be mentioned in the 2nd room of the first level. It may have been missed due to it starting just as the enemy spawns. I'll probably need to find a better time to display that message.

Gameplay is great! I love the dodge mechanic, and the enemy varieties are refreshing.

The concept of killing one of your rescues is interesting, but it could've been executed better.

The boss was a good challenge, but it would've been nice to see how much health he had left.

The music was alright, but it didn't really fit the game as well as it could've. It's not bad by any means, but it isn't thematically appropriate in my opinion.

Overall a really good game!
