Loved the atmosphere in the game, and the fast pace gave it a cool speed-run-y feel. A fast pace sound track would have made this really awesome!
Unfortunately I don't think it's super clear what it is you have to do, unless I missed something?
Some really great visual effects though, nice job! :)

Thanks for the feedback! I thought the same thing regarding the soundtrack! I just didn't have the time to source or make a track. I also meant to have more floating tutorial text, but I accidentally forgot about it whilst creating the other levels.

Hi JFive, this is a nice game, good job! I think you did great on the environment. But the gameplay is too hard I guess. As a game dev, I learned that the developer tends to feel his game is easy, but the players feel it was frustrating, sometime even not playable. Developer tried the game a lot, and has the knowledge about the physics, map layout, AI behavior, and so on, which regular players don't. The first commercial game I made has this problem. I made it in 3 months, just to realize that it is not playable :(

Developer

Thanks for the awesome feedback! I hadn't though to it that way, but it makes a lot of sense! I'll keep this in mind for my next game :)

Nice game! Looks awesome too. Had some framerate issues though. I did lower the quality settings, so that helped a bit. The controls could be tightened up a bit though, especially the jump. It seems the player is moving so quickly at times that the jump takes a split second too long to catch up lol. Nonetheless great job!

Developer

Thanks for the awesome feedback! The framerate issues are due to all the lighting being fully dynamic, that coupled with the volumetric fog is very intensive. I had to make all lighting dynamic because my models do not have light maps. I noticed the jumping issue as well! I believe it is due to the character having a capsule as the hitbox, because if it is sliding of the edge of a platform it will make you loose your first jump. I plan on improving these things soon.

It not clear what to do after the "long jump". I came back to the "castle", but the pink room doesnt open.Hmmmmm

pick up blue lantern, hit the jump pad and bring all lanterns to their respective cauldrons

Nice game, but very difficult. The game looks awesome, however something impacts the performance quite heavily. It's a good thing you've included a graphics options menu inside the game.

Developer

Yeah, I believe it is a combination of the volumetric fog and some of the particle effects. I didn't have enough time to optimize properly before the deadline, but that will be one of my main focuses for future updates. Something about the chandeliers impacts performance greatly, I'm not sure what.

Nice game! Well done! I enjoyed it. I found it very hard though, but very nice game indeed.
