Cheaters?

Hi everyone! I know only Matthew Palaje can REALLY answer this question, but I really wanted to see other people's opinions.  What if someone posts a game for the jam, and it just gets majorly down voted for by other participants so that they can't win. Won't that be majorly unfair?

how can it be majorly down voted man their are thousands of people if your game is good it will show out...

It would require everyone to collaborate to bring a specific game down, with no means of secret communication between participants (AFAIK there are no DMs on itch.io).

However, indeed the optimal strategy for any individual participant is to one-star every other game. It's a classic game theory problem which in real life is solved by people not being shameless meanies :)

I really doubt that sort of thing would happen in this wonderful community. Also, due to the large voter pools, the votes from the cheaters would be negligible.

Yes, I hope it is fair here. I only saw nice people in the forum here, and I won't downvote games just to be better. This is not the sense of a game jam. We have to work together!
