Credits(who did what, if they have a discord/itch name put it):
I did everything except the music, which was done by Nicole Marie T from here: https://nicolemariet.itch.io/spy-8-bit-16-bit

How/Where did you put the theme in your game?(in short)
The game is themed around a "septopus" - an octopus with 7 tentacles. There are 7 randomly generated mazes to complete, and you have 7 lives. You have 21 (7*3) seconds to complete each maze, and 7 seconds is added to the timer each time you fail, to make things easier.

Did (you or your team) do the graphisms yourself?
I did the graphics myself.

Did (you or your team) do the musics and sounds yourself?
I did not do the music. It was done by Nicole Marie T from here: https://nicolemariet.itch.io/spy-8-bit-16-bit

Did (you or your team) make the code during this jam's timeframe?
Yes

Some of the mazes were very short or very long. I really like the idea of memorizing the maze and then zooming in when you have to move through it. Nice work!

Good job, especially nice having a soundtrack (makes any game twice as good)!
Here are a few things that could be improved about the game:
1) better graphics - spending some time on tiles for the maze walls would make it so much nicer.
You can also add some animations - even something as simple as slight wobble as you move from tile to tile would make it look better.
2) refine maze generation - right now the mazes are either super short, reasonably sized, or insanely large. You can probably get the solution length when you generate a maze, so you can choose mazes of proper size.
3) I feel like the maze solving in its own is a bit boring, but it is hard to make it more fun. You can look at "Witness" for some inspiration.
4) perhaps one other thing that would make it much harder / more fun is to change how the maze is traversed - instead of WASD movement make it WAD and make A/D turn the maze around you. That would make it more confusing to traverse the maze, I think, but idk if it will be more fun or not.

Thanks so much for playing! I appreciate the feedback!

For anyone struggling to play this game (seems to not play well with antivirus software), you can take a look at the game's page to at least see a video of it in action. As well, I added the game on Google Drive with a slightly different export strategy, which doesn't seem to complain about antivirus. I'm not sure if that's allowed, though, since it's after the submission deadline, even though it's the same game. Either way, I just hope people can play my game.

Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately, no matter what I do, I can't seem to run it. Norton AV hates it and instantly deletes it..

thanks for the heads up... I'll try submitting something to Norton to let them know it's not a virus. Windows Defender did something similar on my machine, so I raised a ticket with Microsoft which they actually already resolved. Hopefully Norton is also quick to respond.
