LibGDX Jam Project - Star Dust

Our project idea is to create a rogue-like adventure game in which the main character is alone on a ship lost in the far reaches of the universe. The player travels between a number of procedurally-generated planets, space stations, asteroid fields, etc. collecting different supplies that they find. The player uses a variety of weapons to fight off enemies that they encounter along the way and every weapon is unique and also procedurally-generated and can be upgraded and combined with other weapons and parts to increase its stats. As the player travels they will gain experience and level up and gain enhancements in the form of some sort of stat system. The enemies will have varying difficulty and will become more difficult as the game progresses. We hope to add some sort of narrative to work its way out as the player progresses through the game with bosses, inhabited cities (maybe), and market places or space stations with NPCs.
The current idea for the story is the player is the last survivor on a starship that was shot across the universe by some mysterious force, and he or she must travel around the nearby star system to find out how to get back or find a way to get along here.
