Hi people! This year, we've done some tweaking to the rating criteria in the hopes of prompting a greater focus on the craft of making games, and making sure that the criteria more fairly map to a broader range of submissions - for example, "Visual flair" wasn't really covering audio-only games very well!
Here's a quick rundown on each of the new criteria and what they mean:
- Intention - what was being attempted (concept, high level design, narrative, etc.)
- Implementation - how it was put together (technical aspects, gameplay, pacing, etc.)
- Presentation - how the experience is surfaced to the user (aesthetics, audio, visuals, dialogue, UI, etc.)
- Completeness - how "finished" it feels (polish, UX, structural completeness, etc.)
- Linux compatibility - how it runs on Linux! (executable permissions, respecting platform conventions, documentation of required dependencies, etc.)
