This was for the most part solid and well-scoped for the jam. The story is cute and resonant.

As others have noted, it's paced a little slow in a way that I'm not sure contributes positively to the experience (although I think it's good that the "bad" ending feels like unnecessary effort). Controls feel a bit too floaty for my tastes as well.

Overall, a pleasant experience!

Your build didn't have executable permissions set. If you are on Windows, you may want to consider setting up a Linux environment or using a tool like this one so that you can set the executable permissions that will allow your Linux users to run your game without having to fiddle with permissions themselves.

unskipable text is unskipable (or is it?) but that aside it's a nice game with a great theme. Would love to play more of it.

A really cute game, I really enjoyed the dialogue, flames art and moving grass! It would've been nice to be able to restart a level (I messed up the crate at first) and the player felt pretty slow, but other than that it's really nice!
