I love the concept and aesthetics here! Although it's short, I think the game is for the most part well-scoped and executed for a jam this size.

I encountered a few bugs and found the UI a little awkward (I couldn't produce multiple farms without going back to a city for more workers even if I had more than 20 workers in my army, sometimes the re-equip button didn't work, etc.), but on the whole enjoyed what's happening here.

The story was cute, and right up until it ended, I was enjoying growing my civilisation and exploring the world. I ended up playing through a few times to try different approaches, and while there wasn't a lot of breadth of viable strategies, it was still fun.

I'd love to play a larger version of this game with more non-combat roles (perhaps support personnel that helps the army move faster, comms roles that allow some interactions with cities from a distance, etc.) and some more music.

It's always great to see a project with sources available, though I am not certain that including the GUI sounds in there is compatible with Sound Jay's terms.

Thanks Cheeseness for your review!

@sounds> uff, now this is truly embarrassing, thanks for pointing this out... Thanks for reviewing the source in the first place!! I owe you big, I completely forgot about those two clicks.

I'm relatively "new" (or too old) to gamedev jams, so I'd rather ask - am I allowed to upload a repack while voting is still going on?

@bugs & suggestions & larger version> I though I'm "done and done" with this game but I have to say your feedback was a huge motivation boost, thanks. I'll do some more prototyping, try your suggestions and who knows maybe it grows into a real game

For this jam, we don't stop participants from uploading new builds. Typically, we ask people to upload new versions as separate files and leave their end-of-jam builds available during the rating period for context.

In this case, since it's about respecting licence conditions rather than updating the game, I think replacing the published version is the right thing to do. Go for it!

No probs! Thanks for sorting it out :)
