It was kinda hard to figure out what to do.
Really fun to run and jump around in this environment (and press Z to slow down time), but was really difficult to know what to do or how to do it. Tried interacting with the first broken down tank by pressing the interact button, aiming, "attacking" and nothing seemed to happen anywhere on it. Then I'd go to the next area and try all my buttons on the things there with no response either so I don't know. Also the other tanks that spawned in wouldn't have collision with the player and then they'd just run into my antenna and reset the game. I'm sure there's a fun game in here somewhere, just needs a bit more clarity and cohesion for the player.
Hey, thank you so much for playing! Thanks for the feedback, I really should have focused on teaching the player the controls and how to play before dropping him into the level. Due to a lack of time, I did not do the tutorial and did the level, which should have been the other way around ahah. I might update the game after the submissions open, but I'm still not sure, as I have been kind of busy.
Thank you again for playing, means a lot! :)
edit: perhaps I can explain the controls
You move and jump with WASD and SPACE respectively. G or TAB opens your pager (the info icon that beeps on the right of the screen). E is used for interactions with your hands, so killing the tanks in the first spawn area, crafting the cells and interacting with the antennas is done with that key.
Pressing Q switches weapons, but it only unlocks after activating the first antenna.
The tanks don't have collision due to buggy implementation (my bad), but in order to destroy them, you need to interact with them on the side, where the gears from their tires are. Hope this can be helpful to you, or to someone who wishes to play in the future
Cheers :D
A good concept that suits the theme, environment is great and the gameplay was fun.
Thank you for playing!
Cool idea. However this game needs tutorial to explain what to do. I know with time constraints that is hard to do. Overall good concept.
Thanks for trying it out! Yeah, I'll see if I can find the time to update the game with a tutorial, otherwise it's something I should be careful with in future games :)
Sorry but my toaster that i use as computer dont let me play the game, it crash. Its looks really good and interesting :(
So sorry about that! :( During development I tried to optimize the game, but towards the end I was rushing and may have discarded some steps in that area. Thanks for trying anyway
I think this game needs some tutorial because its confusing to understand what to do. It could be much more fun. I would like to see finished version ^^
Hey, thank you so much for playing!
Yeah, I only started implementing player tips and an introduction for the player later in development and it is something which is clearly lacking.
Once the submissions are open again I'll try to update it :)
I tried really hard several times to beat this game but it seems to be pretty buggy. Eventually like 20 of the tractor things were spawning at a time. I'd run back to craft and more tractors would show up. Then the antenna would get destroyed after two hits and I had to start over.
I eventually got past the first antenna by just quickly running back and forth but I never managed to unlock a weapon.
Hey, thanks for playing! Yeah, starting to understand the game is kinda hard.
The weapon is unlocked the moment you connect the first antenna, just press Q after you do it. I did not manage to implement a proper way of showing that to the player, know it is something important missing.
Regarding the tanks never stopping, that was kinda to force players to get running 😅. I guess it needs balancing ahah
