We had an absolute blast!
Was the resolution a challenge?
It's surprisingly hard to find good artwork based for such a low resolution. We ended up making most of it ourselves and using open art when available.
What did you learn?
We wanted to recreate the nostalgia of an MMORPG we both loved playing when we were kids (Ragnarok Online). We managed to keep the feel even with the lower resolution. In particular, we wanted to have really good mouse-based gameplay.
Other advice: definitely leave some time for polish, play-testing, and the inevitable bugs you'll run into on the last day!

Why it is often shows me two buttons: To Town and Exit? I can't understand because of what this is happens.
Love colors and nice art.
Hey! Thanks for checking out the game! You basically get those two buttons when you die! You then get to choose to respawn back in town or quit the game. We didn't get time to put a "died" sprite for the player, so sorry for the confusion :-)
Liked the idea of autoattack, very useful. Overall cool game with nice map and combat. Though I didn't quite understand at first how to see the inventory and leveled stats only on 10th level )
Thanks for taking the time to play the game and leaving feedback. We really appreciate it! We love the auto-attack style too! You're right that it's a bit of a struggle to "discover" the different in-game windows. Ideally we should have put some icons for popping up the different screens, but due to the 64x64 limitation, we couldn't pull it off. We instead resorted to giving out that info on the game page on itch. Cheers!
You are welcome :)
By the way, I got some kind of a bug, I forgot to mention. When you open Help menu and then Stat menu and start to set points - click on the land is registered and character goes that way )
Cool game! I enjoyed exploring the map and checking stuff out!
Thanks!
Really enjoyed your game as well, love solving puzzles :)
Nice entry! Really liked how big the map was and the leveling system! One thing I'd recommend is disabling stuff like opening the map or talking to people when you are in combat, other than that well done!
Thanks for your comment :)
We had actually planned to pause the game while inventory / map are open, but somehow that feature got left out in the rush to finish the game. We will polish it up some, once the jam ends.
Glad you enjoyed it, we had fun making it :)
