I finally got a chance to play the PC build, and I must say, it's really cool to see the Godot engine being utilized so effectively. The pixel graphics are good, and the screen effects add a nice touch to the game. The game loop feels well-designed and complete, although I didn't make it to the end and I'm not sure if there is any final end. I made a mistake with the timing and the monsters took down my base. Nonetheless, the teleports were a really nice way to progress in the game. Overall, well done!

Thanks for the nice comment! Yes there indeed is an end with a cutscene, though I'm sure not much player was able to watch it :P

Looking forward to playing this. Did start the WebGL on stream yesterday, but was interrupted by the bug, https://youtube.com/live/pxOUASRSPeY

Developer

Sorry about that, it appears that the browser version is broken atm :(

Fellow Godot user, Ikmal says hi! We are from the same country. Woohoo!

Godot FTW

Fun game! I don't really play base builders but I was digging this. My favorite part is how the edges of the screen go dark and close in the more oxygen you lose. That is such an excellent design choice and makes the experience much better imo. It's easy to get lost shooting and looting and forget to check your oxygen levels haha and I feel like you designed for that.

Awesome job, team!

Thank you very much, I'm glad that you enjoyed the game!

Very cool! I liked the scavenging and base building. I loved the pixel art of the game - those fetus-looking enemies especially.

Note: My expensive turrets seem to malfunction. They got stuck only shooting upwards, and weren't able to defend my base at all, causing me to lose.

Developer

Thank you! Do you mean that the turret is stuck even when you press Up or Down, or that the turret doesn't do anything on auto mode?

Submitted

Oh! I didn't know you can control the turrets. Things were a bit hectic in the wasteland with the monster attacking. No wonder they were "stuck". :)

Developer

Sorry about this, I guess the instruction is a bit unclear

Good game though! Congrats for making it during the jam! I had another question - what's this thing with the Z and how do I use it? Pressing Z doesn't seem to do anything that I can notice.

Developer(+1)

Like indicated by the prompt, you need to press Z while having [a certain item]. You can refer to the itch page as to what item that is if you don't mind getting spoiled.
