How does your game fit the Magical Girl genre?
Magical Girl Volta has the power of pink lightning to zap monsters and defeat villains! She also has a cute mascot type character that roped her into this whole "magical girl" thing.

Which theme(s) do you pick?
Pandora's Paradoxxx

How does your game fit those theme(s)?
Interpreted as Pandora's Paradox as it relates to Pandora's Box where all the evils of the world are contained and if let loose the paradox is that the only thing that can defeat them is the very last thing inside the very same box. This is the focal point of the short little story for this game.

If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
I included a washing machine and a rhythm mini-game as well as some eurobeat/eurodance soundtracks sourced from Pixabay and credited in the game end credits.

Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Yes, art assets developed during the jam period. Music and sound credited to pixabay sources used under Creative Commons and same for the rhythm game code used for that part from Lynn / r3dhummingbird and credited as such in the game credits.

Fun visual novel that's just the right length for a game jam! With 72 games to play, I'm grateful for tight, fun experiences.

And this definitely fits that description! The story was enjoyable, the music and SFX all worked well, and the original artwork was a good! I loved the surprise transformation at the end, hehe. I also liked how you worked the rhythm game section in. I enjoy VNs, but I'll always prefer ones that have mini-games and other activities mixed into the story.

Great work! Here's to Chapter 2!

Short and funny VN with a small rhythm game section, good job! Extra kudos for not making it hours long ¦3

The animations and transitions are nicely done. The drawings are a bit simplistic, but they are all consistent to the game style.

Music selection is also pretty good. Sometimes the same music could restart from the beginning, and loops are not perfect, but these are all minor things.

Making a rhythm game is hard, and even if you picked the right tech for the job, I think the hardest part is to make the actual mapping of expected inputs to match the song. You can try recording yourself table drumming the rhythm section in the game, and then check how that recording fits the music.

Good effort, it was fun to see all 3 endings!

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! The rhythm game part even using r3dhummingbird's onset was not easy, I think I kind of got it working but yeah, definitely an ocean's worth of room for improvement. I really do appreciate the detailed look and I'm glad if it was a bit fun.
