If you look at past entries, we have had a wide range of genres of games submitted: from SHMUPs to platformers, from tower defenses to visual novels, even RPGMaker games and text adventures, and even some which can't easily be defined (e.g. MG dress-up game), have been submitted. As long as the game has got a magical girl (at least 1), and what you make is a video game (i.e. not TTRPG), there is no problem.
