Mapemounde 2020 is over Sticky

Mapemounde 2020 is over. We are happy with how it went, with your response and with the games that this jam helped to create.

This was the second jam we organised, after Mapemounde 2019. Not everything went as planned, but we have been taking notes, and we want to learn from this experience and do an even better job for our next jams – including next year’s Mapemounde!

You accepted our challenge and wrote many unusual, fascinating games in a short period of time. Submitting a game is a victory in and of itself.

Like last year, we also have a small prize for the three most-voted game, in the form of a bundle of map-games! The first criterion, “How well the game fits the theme and goal of the jam”, is the fundamental one for the jam: just like last year, we have assigned the prizes based on that ranking.

The other criteria of evaluation still generated a very interesting ranking, and we’ve seen a lot of constructive discussion during the past two weeks. The evaluation you received can help you identify which areas of your game design and writing needs more practice, and where you can improve. There can certainly be different approaches and points of view, but we hope you can find this useful.

The recipients of our most-voted prize are:

  • Unexplored by Hardcore Narrativist (1st);
  • METRO\Pòlis by Black Hole and Star (2nd);
  • The Hanging Room by albertomuti and GrumpyFla (3rd).

Important: itch.io does not help us in communication (there are no private messages here), but we need the email addresses of the winners. We ask you to write to us at info@mammutrpg.eu so that we can reward you with the map-games bundle.

We hope that this community will continue to interact and prosper in the future. So feel free to use the Mapemounde forum to stay in touch. This would be a source of great satisfaction for us.

Congratulations to all those who took part in Mapemounde 2020 and, in particular, to the three most-rated games! 🎊

Wow! Thanks everyone for being so kind to our game - there was a moment in the development where the "more maps" element sort of got lost, but it came back with a vengeance! We received a lot of in-depth, insightful, constructive criticism for The Hanging Room, and it's been great to hear from you, so thanks so much :) I hope you'll have more news of our game soon :)

Congratulations and, please, continue developing the game, now! 😉
