Not sure what the objective is for your game, but I don't think I "explored" well enough. There was nothing to be found around the whole gated perimeter and I tried clicking all the plausible buttons that could logically have an action binding and could not interact with anything I came across. A major negative is not having a game menu for the player to exit your game. There isn't even an action input for exiting the game, I had to open the Windows start menu to be able to close the program.
I also didn't have my VR headset hooked up so if that is something required to play your game I would suggest including that within the title (probably shouldn't make it any longer though) or the game description. If your game does not use VR inputs then I would suggest disabling the VR plugging in your project so that it does not confuse players into thinking they need a VR headset to play your game.
Notes while playing:
- Main menu title font is cool, but spacing makes it tricky to read
- Button font doesn't quite match the title font
- Leave before it's too late button is cute
- Paragraph breaks for text would be VERY appreciated, as is it's a wall of text to read
- Lots of info-dump going on here, would be more engaging to read this backstory as the game happens. The backstory sounds pretty cool, though!
- Is there no music?
- Rain visuals are cool
- Unsure how to interact with objects, or if there even are objects to interact with
- Flashlight beam limiting field of vision enhances tension and creepy factor!
- Would be cool if tombstones had text, such as narrative details or clues
- Nice light reflection graphics on the mausoleum door
- Need some clues or directions about where to go/what to do
- Seemed to hit an invisible wall inside the mausoleum, can't go forward any more
- Creepy jump scare! Gravedigger guy!
- Would up the horror if he followed me as I retreated
- I guess he got me (I tried to go back into the masoleum)
Overall, spooky concept and suited the theme well. Confusing to play, but very atmospheric, especially with the contrained field of view!
Frustrating at first but I managed to finish it
Thanks for review! I guess the first half was frustrating or the game overall? Also I would be glad to know about the cons and pros (if there are any)
When I found the key, that's when the frustration stop, because from then on I know what to do. The start is just a little confusing, I know the objective is to explore, it's just hard to build a mental map of the place when everything looks the same, so I'm not sure if I'm walking in circles, that's why I said it's frustrating at first.
Thanks! I will try not to allow this anymore.
