Soo cute!!! ... really wanted to see the rest of that shed scene, after all the Antici......PAtion. Hope there is a continuation to this story down the line.....maybe?..*wink wink nudge nudge* Great job with this project, made me smile alot and hope to more in the future, soonish hopefully. =^w^=
I cried olive oil.
Cute game, custom art, and I appreciate that there was thought into the "what if you don't commit", but the beats between the two love interests feel pretty much the same. The main difference is the flavor between the two, and while in a longer work that flavor might be varied enough in complexity to make them feel different, this just felt like "Do you want reference A or reference B".
Even the capacity to mix and match just had you go to "Date 1" if you did the other two dates of the other side first--maybe if they altered based on the timeline of travel of the ship, I would have been more on board rather than just "visit 1/visit 2/visit 3! romance hit!"
But that's also a lot more work for a game jam game so... I get it :p
This felt like it was written just for me. I loved the comedy, I cringemaxxed and I was happy for it! The story, if you can even call it that, was pretty thin, but if I take it as a series of vignettes I loved the experience!
Even though the story is probably going to be main thing people will take away from this, I can definitely appreciate the technical skills too. Everything flowed very well, I loved the music, the backgrounds, and the expressiveness of the characters. (Taking full advantage of Sikyu's premade sprites, which is surprisingly challenging to do: so many layers to play with.)
I would honestly love to see these characters again in a proper story.
