Well, if the debug program somehow got triggered, it would certainly break the fourth wall, and it's very relevant to game development. But that probably won't happen, right?

OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:
I love that you accidentally changed Vylun's name to "LadderUp" during one of the cutscenes. That was an entirely pointless feature, but I felt it necessary to include it for some reason.
Your method for beating the boss is one I hadn't even considered, but it was certainly effective. My personal favorite strategy is to remove his invulnerability frames, which is incredibly broken and lets you kill him in about two hits.
Took me a while to figure out the core mechanic, and once I did, couldn't figure out how to progress. Ended up locking myself on the first floor in the end.
Sorry if I missed something obvious. I really do love the mechanic idea. :)
Yeah, the game doesn't really teach the mechanic very well before throwing you into a puzzle.
Setting the enemy's physical defense to 0 would have worked, but unfortunately there's nothing in the area that you can copy that from. Instead, you need to copy the damage type from one of the fireballs, which would cause your sword to deal magic damage and target the enemy's magic defense stat (which is 0).
(Also, you weren't actually stuck on the first floor at the end. If you had copied another property, the ladder's destination would have gone back to normal and you would have been able to use it again)
Wow, this game turned out great! I loved the mechanics of it, very very Meta. I think the gameplay -> dialogue loop was a bit repetitive but overall, it didn't take too much away from the game. I think it was a bit hard to understand after the corruption what was doing on... But

This game is severely underrated. Great job on creating an original mechanic, using it well, and then expanding that mechanic further into the game. The final boss is a bit spongy, but the ending makes it worth it!
I'm glad you liked it! It's actually possible to beat the final boss in a few seconds by exploiting one of the properties you have access to.
Out of curiosity, did you choose the first or second option at the end? There are a few possible versions of the ending.

Couldn't get past the first area, as spawning a sword didn't seem to do anything and using E to copy properties didn't really do anything. I think its more about an issue of communicating new game mechanics to players coupled with feedback, or maybe its just me being a little blur coming to this game. What I can see looks very meta though!
I'm really not sure how to play this. I see E is how to copy an element, but I don't know how to rewrite an element or paste it...
Selected values are automatically copied to everything in range, temporarily replacing their normal value for the property. Think of it as an aura that applies one effect at a time to everything within it.
It can be completed in under 5 minutes, though it would probably take at least 15-20 minutes for a new player.
Love the idea. Love being able to save properties and use them to my advantage. Didn't make it very far, but my tolerance for challenge is a bit low tonight. Like, getting properties off of the projectiles is really tough, but I do appreciate that you don't have to start over from level 1 if you die. Definitely want to revisit later when my head is clearer.
