Was fun, turns out I need to learn a lot about level design though.

Real cool! I love the artstyle. Good game, good job!
Really smooth platforming! It has a nice feel and charm to it. Well done. Will be neat to see where you take it from here.
I really like the setup going here. The only thing I'd say is wrong is the jumping noise. It was cute at first but quickly started to murder my ears.
I'd love to see how what the different spells do if you decide to put some more work into this, the sort of revolver chamber of spells seems really fun.
Ah man.. it was too difficult for me to get further than the 3rd level with the blue sky, floating platforms and walljumping. That was after struggling to get past the turtle on the platform.
It's a real shame because I wonder how much content there is, given how many mages there are in the menu. :c
Like the other commenter, I rescued one of the mages in the first level and picked up a spell, but didn't see it in the menu.
It also took me a while to get used to the spell system, as I associated the arrow keys with directions.
Good job on the mechanics though, the wall jumping & platforming feels solid. Maybe have one or more people unfamiliar with the game playtest it next time so players like me don't run into difficult surprises.
Pixel art was really cute, the levels were a little stale though (colors were a little to bright for the background, IMHO). though I had unlocked some new spells from rescuing a few of the mages, but I didn't see them in the menu at the start. Platforming felt good but the hit boxes on some of the platforms seemed to fail occasionally. Good job on submitting!
