Great job making a 3D game for the jam! It was a fun!  I had a bug the first time I played, I went out and got the sword, then I went back in the house and the sword didn't work anymore.  I just started again and all was good.  Keep it up! :D

A novel idea and pretty cleanly executed as well for a fun little game.

PROS:

  • Overall map/level design was laid out nicely so that I organically encountered the progression and felt the intended power growth.
  • While the models are simple in nature they still mostly convey what they're intended to be and have a charm to them as well.
  • The music was quite good overall and set the tone of any given scene well.

CRITIQUE:

  • The bomb stack jumping is a cool idea for a mechanic, but would greatly benefit from adding a second or two to the fuse time for individual bombs. It's necessary to acquire a couple of the chickens, but feels more difficult to pull off than it should be.
  • The camera perspective makes it a bit hard to gauge exact depth position of things so avoiding projectiles shot out by an enemy that's moving away/towards the camera is tricky unless you put some solid shadows on the ground for everything to better ground them and give players a point of reference for judging that depth.
  • Likely a bug, but after taking damage I still took other damage while my character was flashing. The flashing suggests invincibility frames so if I was either invincible while flashing or the flashing was removed it would be more intuitive to me.

Thank you for your feedback PolyB, I'm taking the notes for future releases.

The getting hit while flashing is definitively a bug!
