Whenever the player lets the ball fall to the ground, their score is immediately reset and they have to start over.

How was your experience with Mini Jam?
This is my first game jam, I enjoyed having to make a project centered around a theme and with a given limitation.

Yeah, this idea of beach volley. I think everyone has come to this when they were brainstorming.
But your implementation is very good and simple. Despite the simple idea of clicking on a ball, this game feels good, especially for a Pygame game.
Thank you very much, I tried to keep it simple but hopefully still fun for the next 5 - 10 minutes.
