good game was kinda weird that I could have enemies sit on top of my head and vise versa did use them to jump off of to get to areas a little cheat lol.
Great audio, art, and platforming; there wasn't much incentive to fight so the enemies felt a bit unnecessary as you could just run past them all to the top.
I agree, but I really wanted to try myself in building a combat system. It will be even better next time!
Getting the banners to power up felt great. Good job, fellow godot dev!
Thank you, it's great to see that more and more people are choosing Godot.
I completed the game but I think the enemies really didn't contribute to the gameplay since I was just skipping all of them. I also think the amount of lives you start with is way too generous since the enemies take like 4 hits to remove 1 heart and sometimes the attacks don't register if you look away from them at a certain distance. The game is and looks good though the enemies can use some tweaking :)
I wrote AI enemies from scratch so they are not that smart as I don't have much experience in writing them. Thanks for the feedback!
Pixel art is nice and clear. The game is consistent. It was nice to have some checkpoint. Enemy sometimes fell on my head, so I can drop him down without fighting, it is very funny :D
Love the polish, very clean old-school plateformer feelings. I felt like the level design was a bit cruel some times (which is a nice way to say that I suck at platformers) but I had fun trying to progress without killing anyone. I would have loved it if we were able to bounce on the enemies or something, that would have been fun.
Overall, very nice game, very polished, great job on this jam!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Visuals, audio, concept, everything is really nice. Only two things that I noticed were:
-Enemies having collision after death.
-Character was slipping of the edge sometimes.
But it didn't interupt the gameplay :D
stunning visuals :)
I love this style of play. But I agree with the man from below and the death of enemies does not always work and he remains standing
nice game. really like it. couple of things, i think, you need to fix:
* circle collider sometimes makes character slip from the edge and its annoying
* there is a thing called "coyote time". basically its extra-time (like 150 ms) to jump even after character starts to fall. it makes game feel more responsive especially when jump is core mechanic
* remove player collision with dead bodies. i happen to stuck in couple of them
