I really liked this game! Pretty fun with some nice looking graphics, great work!! :D
Feel free to rate my entry if you have the time here! https://itch.io/jam/mini-jam-135-deception/rate/2133350
Thanks for playing!
Good game with interesting premise. I didn't realize that you had to be far away from the enemies for the disguise to work so I didn't really use it much but if I did I'm sure it would make the game even better.
However, it kinda looks like you misunderstood the Limitation since in the description you put deceiving the enemies (which is the theme) as the limitation when in reality it's "Death affects more than the player". I suppose killing the enemies gives you a disguise to trick the other enemies, so it kind of fits the limitation. Other than that however, the game is good.
Overall, nice game but maybe a little misunderstanding.
Thank you for playing!
I guess we did lean more to the theme than the limitation, but it's supposed to affect your score more than anything :)
Very interesting stuff. The shadow casting is neat and the ability to wear a disguise and hide is really cool. Combat felt a bit scuffed at first like sometimes the guy doesn't swing when you press the attack just the bar gets deplated but I managed to clear the first level after a couple of tries.
I faced some issues in the second level. The enemies seemed to be invisible. Not sure if that is a bug or part of the deception =D
Also there seemed to be nowhere to go except for those two entrances which I couldn't get through as if there was an invisible wall or something.
Aside from those small issues, the game is good overall and the concept is cool. Well done.
Thank you for your feedback!
The enemies becoming invisble, just like the invisible blocks, was an export error on my part, but it's fixed now!
And it's strange that the attack behaves this way, because testing in the scene it doesn't seem to happen, but it acts weird on itch (something to do with SharedBufferArray skipping frames apparently) :c
