Really impressive as a first submission, the screen size issue is unfortunate but lucky not completely game breaking. The background feels a bit cluttered and it makes it more confusing than it needs to be (at first I through I needed to collect the shells and avoid the coral etc.), I'd suggest making them blend in a bit better so that the important gameplay elements stand out more. Aside from that, it looks and sounds good and plays very smoothly, well done!
thanks a lot for all of your feedback! It helps a lot and it is really constructive! I also take into account your reply under another comment, I’ll try and fix it for sure! I do have a hud anchored at the bottom btw :)
I’ll post an update if I manage to fix it. Thanks again, it means a lot !!
No worries, I hope it helps, the main point of jams is to learn and improve!
Good job or your first game, sadly the screen was a bit big so some of it was cut off
Yes I didn't have the time or the courage to redo everything and reduce the size of the screen. A bit disappointed about that
For future reference it should be pretty easy to scale things in Godot without messing around with individual elements. Under Project Setting > Window > Display, you can change the viewport with and height to set the size of the output then scroll down to the 'Stretch' section and use the scale to adjust so things fit. I'd also recommend looking into using CanvasLayer and UI elements to anchor things like menu buttons and HUD elements on the screen if you haven't already.
I enjoyed te gameplay and chilled atmosphere, thank a lot! Great work
Thanks !
I enjoyed playing it. It is a fun game. Great work under just 3 days.
Thanks!!
Really good job for your first game, apart from the screen size issue it works, well done!
Thanks a lot!
After a bit of fumbling to get into the game due to the screen size, it was a good bit of fun! Good job :)
Yes sorry about that! I think it's because the screen size in the game is way too big (because I wanted to make my assets bigger) for the website + the format is not exactly squared it's enlarged on the bottom for the hud.
Thanks for the feedback it's motivating :)
I really like the art style tho i have a screen resolution proplem and after i come back to the menu i can't click anything
Thanks! Yes I think the size of my screen in game is way too big and I don't really know how to fix it for now. Appart from resizing everything but I do not have time to do it sadly :(
Thank you for the bug report! Do you mean when you die and use the main menu button?
Yes when i died and use the main menu button
Then i cant go back to the game or use the how to play button
Ok! I'll see what I can do but I might be stuck with this one. It's a first game for me I'm having a hardtime debugging
Thank you for the feedback!
