Cool concept with nice writing. A really nice addition would be some sort of elementary lighting system (you could simply add a dark mask over the game with a flashlight shaped cone in it). That would really add some atmosphere in the game and bring the whole atmosphere to life!

I liked the creepy notes! A couple things that I would like seeing in the final copy you are making.

It would be nice to be able to move diagonal when pressing up and left. right now you can only move vertically or horizontally at the same time. I also wasn't sure what the flashlight was used for.
