As stated below, this is a truly unique concept. The robot voice is perfect for the atmosphere. The only thing I would like to see is a user interface, more main and creative tools. The music is mostly generated good, great work!

I really like the idea :D nice work

Really unique concept, I really love it.

I find the text-to-speech lady a bit jarring, but it's probably the most fitting voice.

The music sounds really procedural/made by a ai, which perfectly fits the premise of creating new music, since everything sounds off and kinda dissonant.

Also every song kinda sounds like part of the Sonic Chronicles OST (Especially the "Central City" track)

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

Most of the songs come off very AI made for sure, every now and then I get one that feels almost real, but for the most part they're very AI generated! Maybe if I spent a few months I could get it more consistently making nice sounding songs, but I think for how quickly I made it the results were pretty good!

And yeah I got a lot of comments on it sounding like older video game music! It only really has one melody beat so that makes sense!

I really like the text-to-speech lady, she adds a lot to the experience, it sounds like she might go rogue and conquer the world after bringing you some nice music. She also said that she enjoys spending time with me, such a cutie. Too bad I know zero about making music x3

Developer

Haha neither do I, didn't stop me from making a bot that's better at it than me!

I'll glad you liked her! I'm so picky about what TTS voice to use and she stuck out as clearly a robot, which was fine in this game, but actually pleasant to listen too.

I really like the concept. It must be a pain to program music theory though. With some more polish and a good UI, I think you have a good start here.

Developer

Oh thank you!

And yes, yes it was! I made a little Easter egg mentioning that in my first pass, I accidentally got stuck where EVERYTHING sounded horror themed! If it was slow it was haunting, if it was fast it was intense/anxiety inducing. Finally figured out it was because I was playing semi tones next to one another. Such a tiny little thing, but playing semitones next to one another gives anxiety to listeners! And it's a super well known concept once I realized what to google.

It's not my type of game , but I love the concept, and the presentation.

Developer

Oh I'm glad you can appreciate it! As I made it I was like... is it even a game or more of just a music demo XD but that happens sometimes! Thank you so much for playing!

Cool game. Nice to see something messing around with different sound design concepts, haven't seen that yet really from other games. Good job.

Developer

Thank you! It was a lot of reading things on music theory at the last minute! I really feel like I could have done a lot better, but given the time I'm happy with it!

It's fun to play with! The only problem in my opinion is that it's hard to always remember the controls.

Developer

Oh it will remind you every time that when you press F1 it'll give you the controls again!

And yeah I was worried about that! I've bene practicing trying to make games that are blind accessible, so I wanted to try and not have any instructions up on screen. But I realize that this honestly came out more like a tool than a game in some ways, so maybe should have just stepped into that and given even more controls but had them be optionally displayed!

But I'm glad you liked it!

You say this is a pacifist game, but I feel in danger, with how much time I could spend on this! :) Seriously, though, this is a really lovely concept, and I’m really enjoying playing around with it.

I'm glad you liked it! This was really fun to make and researching it was fun too. Was watching music theory videos at midnight trying to figure out why no matter what I did it sounded like X, or what the key aspects were of songs that sounded like Y.
