How from scratch does "from scratch" mean?

Hey! I noticed the rules require that "Your entry must be made from scratch", and I'm not sure what this is meant to convey. Is it intended to be fully literal, like the Ludum Dare compo jam? Or can we use a template project where we've already set up, for example, a main menu, a basic character controller, scene management, a bunch of helper scripts, etc etc - basically a load of generic reusable assets to cut out the tedious routine making them each jam. The stance on using assets from places like Itch or FreeSound is a little unclear as well.

The description says the jam is meant for beginner devs, but disallowing all of what I've meantioned, as the rules technically do, seems to go against this? If anyone could clear this up it'd be fantastic. Thanks! :)

You can use templates, prefabs and premade assets.
Assets can be from any website or service.

We updated the rules to reflect that but it seems this jam is still using the old rules. Will change that.

Alrighty ty - I figured that was probably the intention but figured it'd be best to check anyways.
