Okay...

So first things first... I have no experience in this kind of things so I hope I'll be able to keep up and meet the deadline...

So my game is going to be a sort of "short horror" kind of game mainly because making a scary story narrative is a lot easier for me.

It's going to be a 2d side-scroller with a bit of horror elements added in.

Here's  my original plan:

Day 1:

Create a simple AND working GUI including the art of the game...I'll keep it simple because, sadly, I'm not an artist :(

Day 2:

Create the player character (and maybe a simple inventory system)

Day 3:

Create the level/map/play area and the other stuff like details

Day 4:

Combine the stuff I made in day 3 and 4 and add in the mechanics.

Day 5:

Wrap up and add in some finishing details as well as polish stuff and remove bugs.

Day 6:

Upload

[Update] Update Log 1:

Well I manage to get a rather decent menu working nothing too much on it though, currently working on the level design and the enemy ai of the game.

As for the player character... I, somehow manage to do it after I finished the first stuff so I guess, I sort of skipped day 2 of my plan... Oh well at least it works.

As for sounds I'm planning on making it kind of ambient with some subtle sound effects here and there.

[Update 07/19/20] Update Log 2:

As of this time I finished implementing the player into the main game.

Currently finishing up the environment and implementing the narrative.

I like the theme and your menu art looks promising. How are you getting on? If I had some advice it would be to focus on getting a playable core loop. It's great to have a plan but it sounds like you won't actually have a game until at least day 4, having spent time working on the GUI, levels, inventory system, etc.

Look forward to seeing some progress!

it's all good the core has been done on the second day just forgot to place it (my bad xD)

all I'm really doing now is building the environment.

thanks for the advice btw :D

oh this looks great so far! i love small horror games. btw--you can post a new reply in the thread to bump it to the front of the page. it also makes it easier for people to see there's new content in case they come back to the devlog. good luck with the jam!

Ok noted thanks for the tip :D
