I played the Linux build, and I noticed two things: a filter appears to be applied to the sprites for the spearman and ram card, which therefore look a bit washed out. Or, to put it in Godot terms, it was probably forgotten to reimport them with the Pixel2d preset for textures. Also, there is a weird bug causing placed units not to move sometimes.
I really can't emphasize enough how great the minimalist visuals are. It's really satisfying to watch the battle unfold and all the mechanics and strategy elements are pretty slick.
I hit a little bug where all I had left was an archer against an enemy trebuchet and it kept firing on the archer but the archer never died. A persistent retry button would be a nice addition, so you might not have to close all the way out in the event of something like that. Or when I realize that I've made boneheaded unit placements (but honestly it's so fun to watch the battles play out I don't mind).
The last battle is pretty hard. I could probably brain it but I lost on my first attempt.
There's a weird bug where deploying troops mid-battle causes the just-deployed troops to just stand around dumbly without moving or attacking, getting them chewed up by archers.
Deploying troops mid-battle was a bit of an afterthought, I don't think it really has much use. Units get added to the back of the queue, so after they're placed, every other unit will go before them, this might be what you're seeing? Unless there is a bug I haven't reproduced myself. And yes, the final battle is pretty tough, and dependent on how well the mangonel (mango OP) does which can be a bit RNG.

This is so cool!
Very nice game, liked the idea and the visuals.

Really great work!
This is epic, I love the art style and how the decks move!
Great job Sambi!
This is really good. I love the art, the style, the polish! Everything works really well. Is there a possibility for a WebGL/HTML5 build?
Thanks! HTML5 is hosted on Github: https://samuelbigos.github.io/cards_n_castles/
I'm not sure if I can upload both HTML5 and binary to Itch.io, it seems to be one or the other?
Very simple. Surprisingly deep. Pretty fun.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks again for the feedback :)
