Goals

The basic goal of jam is to make a playable, working game.  I have very little game experience, so expectations for quality are low, but I hope to have at least an MVP at the which offers at least some gameplay. For motivation, trying to do something every day to make the game better.

GamevConcept and Mechanics

After messing around with Unity a bit in the past weeks, I decided not to try a card or map game, and instead go with a simple platformer centered around climbing a mountain (or more like a ravine).  The basic concepts are as follows:

  1. Spending time away from a Fire will make you lose warmth
  2. Climb from one fire to the next quickly to avoid dying
  3. Climb by throwing axes with ropes, and then climbing said rope
  4. You have two axes with ropes, so you can navigate through the areas by swinging from one spot to another

Sprites and are are secondary to getting mechanics working, but I will mess around with those as well.

this is a great mindset to have for making your game in two weeks!! iterating on an MVP is a great plan to get a finished game you can add to. best of luck with the jam!
