Lovely graphics. I included it in a compilation video series of all of the Mystic Western Game Jam games, if you'd like to take a look :)

Lovely idea! I hope for a full-game after this!

Thanks for your feedback so far folks! Regarding the physics of the horse, the animations of the character are calculated using physics rather than a set speed (To avoid the animations snapping as the x/y speed changes, providing instead a gradual change between them). I'll likely tone down the speed at the very least of the horse since it really does go like a bullet! When playing I've gotten used to tapping the keys to trot at a speed the cows can keep up with! One of the things that doesn't help the sliding effect is the fact none of the actors have walking animations (Once again, made in like 20 hours!) Pretty busy today but will definitely get around to checking out all of your projects and giving you some useful feedback!

I like the simplicity here. Actually took me a couple of passes to understand how to "do the thing" in it, perhaps embarrassingly? But I liked the kind of herding/leading feeling... it all seemed very gentle. Not sure if I loved the physics of it, but it came to seem natural after a while!

I'm actually pretty excited about how lonely and stark this game feels, due to the lack of interactivity. That emptiness of game mechanics actually captures something very western for me. Nice work!

I really like the visual design in this (and how you fit it into the page). I wish there was some subtle interactivity, like scaring the cows or something. I'm also not a huge fan of the acceleration, I wish movement felt more solid, trotting around on a horse should feel more stable, this feels more like sliding on ice.

Trasevol_Dog Thanks! I was pretty short on time (Started with 20 hours to go and was only able to use about half of that with it being me and my partner's 2nd anniversary) so had to keep the scope super small. Glad you liked it anyway!

Cool entry! It could do with a little more interactivity. :)
