Interesting game, though I didnt get it I dont think. I included it in a compilation video series of all of the Mystic Western Game Jam games, if you'd like to take a look :)

Reminded me of the random feeling nature of losing in Oregon Trail. I liked how it was a reduction of the game flow of the original one. An exercise in seeing how far the original can be reduced, while keeping sort of the same impact on "oh hm yeah travelling to oregon then would have been tough'. Also has a map-making element to it (at least if I wanted to get further, I would have to do that.)

Maybe it was from using keyboard, but the turn speed being higher would have been nice, to an extent the slowness was nice for an observation pacing, but a bit more could be good.

@nicom –– Really helpful to get those issues noted, thanks. I've uploaded new builds with a larger deadzone, so hopefully that'll help if you have a chance to check it out). As for the land disappearing... yikes! If you happen to remember any details of when it happened for possibly reproducing the error I'd love to fix it... (invisible only while moving and then visible again, or invisible even when you got there?)

As someone who has passed through Independence, MO many times in my life, I have to say that you've captured the experience to a T.

This feels very familiar from my time playing Oregon Trail. Lost in a maze of different states, laboriously exploring the different horrible ways that everyone can die. I like that the scenes are really spread out and isolated from each other, as if the causal connection between different timelines is specious.

This is a really interesting piece, I feel less like I'm playing a game and more like I'm wandering through fragments of someone else's game, where every choice has already been made and I'm simply sifting through the consequences. I really like the simple but evocative visual style. My only critiques would be that the gamepad controls need a deadzone (gamepad joysticks rarely sit exactly at 0, making it rather awkward to have to find the right position in order to read the text), and a couple times the plots of land turned invisible while I was travelling to them, but this seemed to only happen upon looping back on things that I'd already seen (and only twice). Really great work man :)

WOW!! This game is amazing! I love that you got to mystic by shattering a western. Brilliant. And a truly well-deserved 5-stars for "Endless Skies." Too bad though, about Jane. Loved it. Thanks!

I really liked the visuals of this game, especially the broken wheel motif. I also liked the trippy Oregon Trail vibe.
