Interesting concept, I could imagine polished version of it.
(When I tried to use the “smaller sized” cards, I ran into a crash, I suppose that’s the “playing in a certain way” the description mentions.)
Does your game contain AI-generated content?
The only AI generated content in the game is in the code. Mostly used it to autofill and help me with debugging.
How does your game fit/incorporate the theme of the game jam?
Since the theme this year is Remnants of the Past, I interpreted it as having to do with a small number of things like limited inventory, a card that takes up space purely to make the player feel that they have fewer cards to play, a small hand of dialogue, and one soundtrack. I incorporated the past aspect by making those cards as characters who are part of the Neuroverse and have collaborated with Neuro before. Remnants also mean a surviving trace, which is part of the gameplay. If a card survives on the board, it can continue fighting for or against the player.
Also, it is the remnants for a surviving trace of a game that was once playable.

Cool idea, but I'm not sure I understand the memory cards. Can you get rid of them somehow, or is there any bonus or utility to them? Because it seems like you can put 1 of them in the special slot on the right, but after that if you get unlucky and end up with a hand of 7 memories then you're just stuck and can no longer get any playable cards.
Also, since there's no animation, or title-card, or any other visual signal that a turn phase has begun, it's quite easy to skip the main phase without draw and/or playing a card on accident.
Ah, those cards could be removed on the right side of the board, should have been possible to put an infinite amount of it there but I heard there's some bugs where sometimes you can't add more so I'm fixing that. It's just there purely to fit the theme but will update the game to give it some effects. I have an idea on how to indicate the current turn which I may or may not have forgotten to add it into this game, so an update will be made to make it clear to the player hopefully on what's the current state of the game.
Thank you for trying it out!
Game is interesting, would like to see this polished! As it is right now, reminds me alot of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories
I saw your comment on Discord saying feedback is great! =D
It took me a bit to understand how to play the game, but once I did, it was fun!
I think adding a small counter to indicate the current phase of the game would be helpful.
Alternatively, an icon showing whose turn it is would make things clearer.
I didn't realize I had to actively draw cards until I ran out of them. =P
If there’s no strategic reason not to draw cards, maybe this could happen automatically at the start of the turn.
When I play one of the VTuber cards (like Ellie Minibot or Neuro), the game crashes during the attack phase.
I also found the attack and defense icons a bit unclear
Took me some trial and error to figure them out.
While I enjoyed the music, when the game starts, for a moment I thought the game had crashed.
It reminded me of the sound a computer makes during a blue screen error while playing audio through the speakers. =P
This all is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt!
The game could use some polish, but it’s a great idea with a lot of potential.
I hope you get the chance to refine and improve it even after the game jam ends.
Would love to see vedal and neuro play a more refined version of the game!
And I too, would love to play it again in a more finished state!
Thank you so much for playing my game! This is the first time I worked on a turn based system so I'm trying to learn the feel of it.
I'll consider adding an icon along with an indicator on the rounds that have played out! Originally I had 2 buttons to indicate which state it was for testing purposes then swapped to a single button. Maybe the 2 button system would have been a better play cuz it tells which side is starting their turn.
The only reason I made it like that was purely to fit the theme :p remnants of the past because you forgot to draw a card and now you'll have to regret the decision of your past self with a small hand to play with.
For the icons I'll also consider that! Might be better to stick with something people would be more accustomed seeing for visual clarity.
Audio is not my strong suit quq but I recently got a midi keyboard so I wanted to try it out! Would love to improve on this games soundtrack so I can give players a feeling of anticipation and excitement
But yes, thanks for the comments! I learned a lot from it
