I am very impressed with how much content you got done in a 72 hour game game! A building game, with day and night, different weapons and enemies. Bravo! My only suggestion is to make the zombies more of a threat, by letting them jump. When I played it the would get stuck on the first block they ran into so they were easy to kill. I'm really impressed! Great job!

Yes we have fixed that. Our original thought process behind that was they would eventually build up so much that they would create like an ocean of zombies coming for you. And those zombies stuck would act as a bridge for other zombies to jump on and get over. But a lot of people said they didn't like it and it felt slow that way. So thank you for the feed back!
One of my favorites so far haha. The progression was really fun for me! Rather than progressing mechanically, I felt like each night I learned something new about the zombie behavior to exploit in my next day's build. It was fun trying out different designs, especially trying to design differently based on each gun. My initial designs I tried to make a base to hide in but was quickly overwhelmed and had to kite them. Then I tried a tower but again they were able to jump up so I had to jump off and run away. Then I tried pitfalls to take them out with the shotgun. Finally I moved on to getting them to line up a certain way so I could take on waves with the sniper. Even as the game is, I could see myself spending a long time on this (I had to tell myself to stop so I could get back to rating all the games)
Looks decent enough and at the start just figuring out the game and gathering resources was fun, but ultimately the progression was too slow for me to continue playing past day 5 or so. I would probably have had to quit anyway, since the game started lagging a bit after I used all of my resources to build a roof that covered pretty much the entire play area. The fact that the zombies were stuck in place pretty much all the time didn't help either. I also felt like only the last weapon was even worth using.
Encountered a few minor bugs too, as well as a major bug which prevented me from building anything but floor tiles:
- For starters the menu font was almost unreadable due to how small it was (I'm using a 11.6" screen with a resolution of 1366x768).
- When mining a block while hugging it, it would mine the block behind it.
- When shooting the laser and moving the mouse around the existing laser pieces would also turn.
- Also for some reason when building stuff I could only choose the first option (a floor tile?). My console was spammed with messages like this when the game was running: "Grid 5, index out of bounds writing [14,4] - size is [1,4]", maybe that has to do with the issue?
Yeah, running on Arch Linux (which probably is not officially supported by YoYoGames :( ). Just tried it again and the problem persists. Looks like the error message might not be relevant though, as it changes depending on the position of the mouse. It probably indicates something related to the material selection part, which works fine (although there's a weird offset in the actual mouse position and the mouse position in game when I'm not running it in fullscreen).
I guess Game Maker Studio 2 just doesn't understand how the mouse wheel works on Linux. If you can't figure out a solution you could always use the keyboard for selecting what to build.
Thank you for the suggestion. We will definetly take everything you say into account. One thing that we have fixed is the zombies. We have improved their ai so they do not get stuck all the time and will probably not slow down the game too much as more zombies spawn. One thing that is supposed to happen is that zombies get stuck when they run into walls so that the other zombies can climb on top of them so eventually it would make a bridge to the player. Also the fact that you can build a wall all the way across the top of the map and no zombies can get you will be fixed as well. Thank you for all your feed back we will use it to improve this game.
Hi, the game looks really cool from the screenshots, but where is the mac version? I only see a windows and linux?
