I love the story that you wrote for this one! Game is fun too, kinda punishing but I think that goes with the turf for this type of game.
Thanks for taking the time to play and comment with the love studios. I wanted to make a racing game where you were racing against other peoples recorded and saved lap times and tried to come up with a story that would be a plausible explanation for why it was done that way. I'm glad you liked it.
good game this, bloody hard to begin with but once you get the hang of it all is cool. Great challenge. Thanks for participating! :)
Thanks Chasersgaming. I've always liked the flying/driving style of hovercraft or asteroids and thought it would be fun to do a racing game using a movement style like that. It was a blast doing this jam. I'm not great with art and it was refreshing to be able to use other people's assets and be able to focus on gameplay.
I have to admit I ended up playing this one for quite a while. I'm impressed the AI gave me a run for my money!
Thanks for the comment medicinestorm. What you thought was AI was actually recorded/saved lap times from other people who played the game (a lot of them from me and my kids actually). As your lap times got better, you were matched up against slightly faster ghost laps to race against. I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
Nice story and gameplay! I included it in my OpenGameArt Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)
