I really liked this story, and the description of the "event" and the inner dialogue was really captivating; couldn't be clearer adherence to the theme! I did find the beginning a little underwhelming as I couldn't visualise the world, but as soon as we entered the town...good job.

Thanks for the feedback. I do wish I did a little bit more for the introduction. I had an idea of making the start seem more like a mission log but I see that I could probably write it in a better way.

Great job capturing the theme of consequences in such a vivid and personal way. The emotional depth of the protagonist adds a compelling layer to the narrative.

The story was clear and flowed well but I like to see more complex characters. That is hard to do in a short story though.

Yeah I definitely agree. I wish I had enough words to make the characters more complex in the story. I guess it will be a good challenge for the next Jam ;)
